Around 500 people protested on International Animal Day (4 October) last weekend outside of the fence of the BPRC in Rijswijk here in the Netherlands. Right now, approximately 1100 rhesus and java-monkeys and 200 marmosets are caught here, in the largest monkey testing center of Europe: the BPRC. Atrocious experiments are carried out on innocent animals here, in the darkest corner of Rijswijk.
Our large group- consisting of activists from the Netherlands and several surrounding countries first marched through Rijswijk in order to alert the locals to what is going on in their very backyards. We then marched to the gates of the BPRC compound (otherwise known as Monkey Hell) to voice our protest.
We want thank everyone for their fantastic commitment!
